It has been fascinating to observe the evolution and changes brought about by the Internet, and now Social Media is on the forefront. I was honored to give the keynote address on the Impact of Social Media to the Texas Retailers Association 50th Annual Meeting in San Antonio last week. I got some great feedback at the Annual Meeting about how different retail is today, and it only seems like yesterday that we had the first Internet Christmas in 1999!
$1.28 Billion – Facebook Ad Revenue for 2010
eMarketer recently reported that Facebook will increase its ad revenue from $665 million in 2009 to a whopping $1.28 billion in 2010! As well, estimates for 2011 ad revenue for Facebook are $1.76 billion which is an increase of 165% from 2009-2011!!! Unbelievable numbers and yet not a big surprise given how Social Media is changing communications and our lives.
