The WashingtonPost.com reported that “Yoshua Bengio, Geoffrey Hinton and Yann LeCun have earned what’s often referred to as the Nobel Prize of the tech world for their pioneering work in artificial intelligence, the Association for Computing Machinery [ACM].”  The March 27, 2019 article entitled “Artificial-intelligence pioneers win $1 million Turing Award” and these comments from ACM president Cherri Pancake:

The growth of and interest in AI is due, in no small part, to the recent advances in deep learning for which Bengio, Hinton and LeCun laid the foundation.
